Two weeks!

It's a new week! Some changes occured since week one. Daddy didn't stay with us overnight, but he was there everyday, early in the mornings until the evening. I usually woke up for every feeding/diaper change he helped with, but doing it all was still exhausting. I have adjusted, though! On Tuesday, 12 days old, we had her 2nd newborn screening done. They poked her heel to draw blood for some tests. I should get the results back next week!

We saw the pediatrician again on Thursday for her 2 week check up! She weighs 7.13 lbs and was 19 3/4 in. long! The doctor thinks the hospital under measured her because there is just no way she grew a whole inch and 3/4 in 2 weeks. She is eating 3 1/2 oz. every 3 hours now! Her doctor thinks she will be more advanced than other babies.. Makes me one proud mama!

Addisyn loves car rides! She smiles a lot in her sleep, but she also smiled at her grandad one day this week when she was wide awake! She was so focused on him and then had the biggest grin on her face!! Usually babies don't do this until about 2 months of age! She is so alert and focuses really well. When anyone is talking to her she just stares into your eyes and really takes in everything you're saying. GG was talking to her and moved back and forth and Addisyn just followed with her eyes! She grunts and snorts in her sleep, hehe! She really is the sweetest little thing every! I love her so much and I let her know all the time! She can't escape mama's kisses!

Sleeping in her sleep!

Her first piece of mail!

Sleepy sleepy girl!

One week old :)

You could say i'm a little busy, but i'll get better about updating this.. hopefully ;)

The first week home mommy and daddy adapted to this new life of parenting. When she slept, we tried to sleep but found ourselves staring at her more. We watched lots of Sons of Anarchy and attended to her every need. She slept in her Rock n' Play during naptime and at night. She woke every 3 hours to eat. Mommy was in so much pain from BF'ing that I just had to stop altogether. It broke my heart, because I missed that closeness I got with her, but I knew that formula was the best route at that point.

Her pediatrician saw her on Tuesday after we got home from hospital. She was 4 days old! She weighed 7.4 lbs. When we left the hospital she weighed 7 lbs. She was eating 2 1/2 oz. every 3 hours and the doctor was okay with that! We have her on Enfamil Newborn formula. The doctor was very pleased with her and said she looked perfect! It was a pleasant visit if we don't count the screaming cry from Dr. Elliot's FREEZING cold hands. Poor baby girl did not like that at all! She had to get her first vaccine, and she only cried a little! So proud of my little girl!

I can't get enough of her. I just want to cuddle her every single minute of the day!

First day home!

After a sponge bath! We weren't a fan!

Aaachoooo!

At the doctor's office!

Sleeping soundly on daddy!

Meet Addisyn Nicole :)

Haven't updated in awhile.. I've been a bit busy.. HAVING A BABY! :)

On January 3rd, about 6:30 in the morning I had gone over to my boyfriends house, not feeling too well. I thought I could be having contractions. Whatever this cramping feeling was, came every 3-4 minutes and lasted for about 2 hours. I got up to watch some TV and decided to take a bath and wait another hour before heading to the hospital. I still wasn't sure it was contractions.. Well, my bath didn't last long, I was in pain! I got out and told Kyle to get dressed because I wanted to head to triage. I had been talking to my sister that morning and when she heard that I was going to triage, she reached out to a friend so they knew I was coming! This cramping feeling got further apart when I was at the hospital, of course! Now keep in mind this is Thursday and we are scheduled to induce on Sunday evening.

After the doctor checked me out and looked over the monitors the conclusion came to: DELIVERY! I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and the cure for that is delivery. I was 39 weeks and 2 days, so it only made sense to go ahead and admit me. I was SO EXCITED! Downside of all this was because of my high blood pressure and preeclampsia, I was going to have to be on a medicine called Magnesium Sulfate. Mag sulf relaxes every soft muscle in your body. It protects the baby and I from lots of things, and protected me from seizures.

They started me on cytotec, a medicine to help progress this delivery. Since I was very uncomfortable they did my epidural pretty early. I was maybe dilated to a 2 and they had already given the okay to give it. I was SCARED! But Kyle helped me through it, along with my awesome nurse, Karen. Then about 8:00 PM they started me on pitocin. Labor is a blur to me =/ but from what I remember, I went from a 3 to a 7 in about an hour and a half! When I got to an 8 I was hurting pretty bad. This is where I don't exactly remember what happened.. I believe I progressed quickly to a 9 and then to relieve any pressure I started pushing. I felt like I was going to pass out while I was pushing so it was difficult for me. Kyle kept his thumb on that epidural button, boy was I hurting! Appartenly my blood pressure dropped and the doc wasn't too happy about that so she ordered me some ephedrine! At 5:24 AM our baby was here! FINALLY! I was exhausted, I couldn't see, and I felt like crap! :( Didn't even feel comfortable holding my precious baby girl because of the meds I was on.

She was 7.7lbs and 18 in long of perfection! She was/is so beautiful. I fell absolutely head over heels for this little girl.
